Vardy’s Arsenal snub was huge – Ranieri

New Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte finalised the transfer of Frenchman Kante on Saturday for $42.5 million, who moves to London on a five-year deal worth 150,000 pound ($1,97,910) per week.

Earlier in the transfer window Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri admitted that he would not stop any players from leaving, and that is exactly what happened, as France global Kante turned down a £100k-a-week deal at Leicester to join Antonio Conte’s Chelsea.

Ranieri says the chances of them retaining the title are very slim as every single side will want to beat them this year – added to the strengthening of rival squads and the Foxes’ participation in the UEFA Champions League. We lost, but we can be proud.

“The 2015/2016 past season will remain as an important season for me”, he wrote.

“Of course it has to be appreciated according to the attack that struck in Nice in July 14th and I have at this point a honest thought for all the victims and their families”.

“At the beginning of the new season, I chose to join @chelseafc”. I want to thank the leaders, my teammates and Claudio Ranieri for this fantastic season that saw us winning the title of England.

While some celebrated his decision to stay loyal and think about his career in terms of Leicester’s style being better suited to his game, others questioned what they perceived as a lack of ambition and desire to join one of the top clubs in Europe.

Conte confirmed in his press conference earlier this week that Cuadrado will not be sold by the club this summer and will be given enough time to prove himself in Premier League.

Kante was part of the France squad which finished runners-up to Portugal at Euro 2016 and becomes Chelsea manager Antonio Conte’s second major signing following Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi.
