Jamie Vardy’s decision to stumble in the West Ham’s penalty box without a tackle and subsequently getting sent off has angered Thierry Henry who felt Vardy’s simulation is embarrassing and a dent to Leicester City title charge.

West Ham did then receive a penalty when Reid was dragged down by Wes Morgan, with Leicester paying the price for repeated holding at set pieces, and after Andy Carroll converted from 12 yeards, Aaron Cresswell then gave West Ham a 2-1 lead.

Vardy will miss Sunday’s home game against Swansea, but his ban could be doubled to include the trip to Manchester United on May 1 if Moss includes the striker’s response in his report.

Ranieri was delighted with the way his players refused to give up even after the red card and claimed the draw after Leonardo Ulloa’s injury time penalty was a positive result. “I know that, the manager knows that, all the players know that and a lot of the people standing around know that”, he told Press Association Sport.

West Ham now find themselves sitting in sixth place in the Premier League table.

Former Premier League referee Howard Webb does not believe Vardy has a clear case to answer. We were anxious at the beginning of the season to achieve 40 points (to avoid relegation) but now we enjoy.

He said: “I’m not eagle-eyed, I’m not an ex-referee, I’m not Howard Webb, I’m a football coach and I don’t want to talk about that. That for me is very important”.

“Also, it was better with 10 v 11, very close, when we conceded the second goal, my players wanted to draw and it was unbelievable, fantastic”.

West Ham striker Andy Carroll has lambasted referee Jonathan Moss for an unacceptable performance, even accusing the official of trying to even things up by awarding Leicester a stoppage-time penalty. We have to fight to achieve the Champions League.

“It was a bit like when I won the title with Blackburn in 1995 and our goalkeeper Tim Flowers came out after we had battled to beat Newcastle 1-0 right at the end of the season and said “we have got bottle”. It is just disappointing and there’s nothing we can do about it when others are making the decision”.
