Vardy set for groin surgery
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is set to undergo a minor groin operation which will keep him out for up to two weeks.

Nigel Pearson is confident Leicester City will maintain their place in the Premier League’s top four.
The stalemate against Bournemouth extended Leicester’s run without a win to three games but they will now get a rest from the travails of the Premier League, with next weekend being the third round of the FA Cup.
Vardy has had a sensational, record-breaking season with 15 goals – including 11 on the spin – to help the Foxes to second in the table.
“I couldn’t tell you what it was”.
The 28-year-old’s exploits in front of goal have inevitably led to speculation surrounding his future, with Chelsea and Real Madrid reported to be interested in signing him.
“I said in a press conference before that when it is the right moment I will rest them”.
With 40 points from 20 games, Leicester, who narrowly escaped relegation last season, have reached the tally traditionally required for teams to preserve their top-flight status.
Vardy was scheduled to be rotated out of Claudio Ranieri’s side for the FA Cup encounter in any case and is set to have the procedure tomorrow.
But Pearson, the man who signed Vardy for Leicester from Fleetwood for £1million in 2012, believes the player will remain at the King Power Stadium during the January transfer window.
He added: “If I have a second half to the season like I have had a first half, then hopefully I will be on that plane”.
“No matter how we got it, I think is definitely a point gained and I have to compliment my players”.
It appeared nobody wanted to score in a game littered with goalscoring opportunities.
Vardy has shaken off a recent virus but has also played with a broken wrist and an ankle problem this season.

“People talk but we have to let it go in one ear and out of the other, and concentrate on ourselves”.
