Ajith’s Vedalam has raked over Rs 15.5 crore at the box office on the first day beating blockbusters like Vijay’s Kaththi and Rajinikanth’s Lingaa in the number game. “Vedalam” heroine Shruthi Haasan also caught the film FDFS in the same theater.

With Vedalam, Ajith has surpassed previous Day One Records set by Rajnikanth’s “Lingaa” with 12.8 Crore and Vijay’s Kaththi’ with 12.5 Crore gross. A few Ajith fans who took charge of controlling the fans’ mad rush and also the theater owner had to escort him safely to the screens.
