As further proof that this presidential campaign is everywhere, Sunday night’s Emmys stage featured several nods to the candidates as well as the current political climate.
“I’m so glad that he liked Veep because his opinion was the one that really mattered”.
“So I certainly do promise to rebuild that wall and make Mexico pay for it”, she quipped, referencing Republican nominee Donald Trump’s controversial immigration policy.
The speech echoed comments she made earlier this year in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where she also said her show felt like it had become “a sobering documentary“.
He told the audience: “Thank you to the BBC who we love above all bakery”.
“Transparent” creator Jill Soloway compared Trump to Adolf Hitler during the awards ceremony, which was filled with references to the United States election.
Bush: Jimmy, that was a joke. Not every victor is available to stream on demand at this time – “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”, for one, is now available for purchase on disc and digital formats only – but many of them are.
Downton Abbey actress Dame Maggie stayed away from the Los Angeles ceremony but won a best supporting actress gong for her role as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, in the hit period drama.
“You know who else hasn’t won an Emmy?”.
Regina King claimed the award for supporting actress in a limited series for American Crime, her second trophy for the program.
This is one election Selina Meyer did win, if you will.
We’re sure Julia’s father would be proud.
Clinton tweeted back: “Congratulations on your Emmy, Kate! I think it’s changing the landscape, period”, he said. “Big fan of yours, too”.

“Jews were other-ized in Nazi Germany to gain political power for Hitler, and right now Donald Trump is doing the same thing”, Soloway said.
