This latest suicide bombing comes on the heels of the July 3 terror attack in Baghdad, considered the worst in recent history.

The blast set on fire several vehicles and damaged many others.

The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by gruesome violence ever since Daesh terrorists launched a campaign of terror in the country in June 2014.

Iraq declared victory over insurgents in Diyala more than a year ago, but the militants remain active despite holding no significant territory there. Islamic State has stepped up attacks across the country even as it incurs battlefield setbacks in the country’s north and west.
