As per reports, one of the attacks took place in a busy street in the eastern neighbourhood of Baghdad al-Jadida.

Near Baghdad, a suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden vehicle at a security checkpoint in Tarmiyah area, some 40 km north of the Iraqi capital, killing four security members and wounding ten others, an Interior Ministry source anonymously told Xinhua.

At least two people were killed and nine wounded in another attack in Zafaraniya, a district in southern Baghdad, the same sources said.

And Mandali, a city about 85 miles east of Baghdad and 55 miles from Baquoba, was the site of a fatal vehicle bombing as well.

The attacks have not being claimed by any of the terror outfits yet.

Iraqi armed forces and volunteer fighters have managed to purge ISIL militants from some key regions, although attacks by the Takfiri group have continued unabated in Baghdad and elsewhere in the Arab country.

The Iraqi capital has seen plenty of sectarian violence in recent years that has nothing to do with ISIS – Shiite and Sunni Muslim groups have repeatedly targeted each another in violent attacks.
