Venkaiah Naidu announces Rs 3250 crore package to decongest Delhi
Venkaiah Naidu announced that from the Urban Development ministry fund Rs 3,200 crore will be allocated to Delhi government, Municipal Corporations and DDA for execution of several projects to decongest roads of Delhi.

Naidu also announced a package of Rs 1,500 crore for the Delhi government for work on decongestion of roads, construction of underpasses and flyovers projects.
Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu launched the “Swachch Delhi Abhiyan” in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at an event here, and stressed on the role of local bodies playing an important role in carrying out the “actual governance” in a federal structure.
DDA will be given 1,665 crore to execute four projects that would help in significant reduction of traffic congestion in the city. “Over the last few months, the issue of resource transfers from the Delhi government to municipal bodies and DDA have dominated the media space”.
“A good beginning has been made in politics”, Mr Naidu said at the event, which was also attended by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, three civic body mayors and municipal commissioners, New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, senior officials from the Delhi and Central governments.
“A sum of Rs 615 crore for construction of rail-under-bridge (RUB) at Holambi of 1 km and rail-over-bridge (ROB) of 1.4 km at Mundka on Urban Eastern Road-II”.
Construction of 860 meter long Rail over Bridge at Narela on Urban Eastern Road-I for decongesting Outer Ring Road at a cost of Rs. 400 cr.
Completion of the 3.50 km stretch of Dwarka Express Way between Urban Eastern Road-II and Northern Peripheral Road providing relief to the residents of Dwarka and Gurgaon by reducing travel time and decongesting NH-8.
The NDMC would get Rs 85 crore to complete balance work of construction of grade separator at Rani Jhansi Road (flyover from St. Stephen’s Hospital to Filmistan). The Centre has given Rs 96.70 crore to the Delhi government for the initiative. He also stated that Kejriwal should lead the Clean Delhi campaign by taking along all concerned including MCDs.

100% Door-to-door collection of solid waste is being collected in 33,301 wards out of a total of 78,000 urban wards in the country. On garbage dumping, Naidu said, DDA has given seven land-fill sites in the city, and four more sites are in the pipeline.
