The midfielder, who can play either in a holding role or in an attacking birth was also Nantes third best performing player having netted seven times and provided six assists for his tram-mates – more than any other player in the squad.

Liverpool have expressed an interest in bringing Jordan Veretout to Anfield following a breakdown in talks between the Nantes midfielder and Tottenham Hotspur, as said by reports.

His impressive performances did not unnoticed across the Channel either and a number of Premier League clubs have since been linked with the former France Under-21 international’s signature. If he has a delusional salary, he comes to see me and he decides to leave, it will be hard to oppose.

However, as said by L’Equipe, Tim Sherwood’s men are closing in on a £10m swoop for the Frenchman. I will not have a choice.

“We can not always be selfish, protectionist and paternalistic”.

The 22-year-old made 40 appearances in all competitions for Nantes last season and still has two years left on his contract with the club.

Villa recently confirmed the £8.5m capture of Jordan Ayew, brother of Swansea’s Andre, from Lorient days after securing the services of defender Jordan Amavi from Nice for £10m.
