Verify: The Benghazi debate at the RNC
Pat Smith, the mother of a State Department IT officer killed in the 2012 Benghazi attack who has become an outspoken Hillary Clinton critic, said the former secretary of state “deserves to be in stripes” for the death of Sean Smith. “But then sometimes we had to go back and say we have new information that contradicts it”, Clinton said.

“That is, unfortunately, part of our political environment right now”, she said.
“You know why we’re saying that? I do sweat the specifics”.
The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee kicked off the voter drive as Republicans met in Cleveland to nominate businessman Donald Trump at their national convention.
Smith noted that Clinton had told her daughter, Chelsea, in an email that the attacks were likely terrorism, but told Smith and other family members a different story.
According to Pew, even most Republican voters – 79 per cent – who did not support Trump through the primaries are backing him in the general election against Clinton. This man is the nominee of the party of [Abraham] Lincoln. It is becoming the party of Trump.
“It is a threat to our democracy and it all adds up to an undeniable conclusion”. Donald Trump is focused on you.
“I am committed to making sure every child in this country receives a world-class education, with good schools and good teachers – no matter what zip code they live in”, said Clinton.
“Hillary failed to protect her people on the ground”, said Geist, who has appeared in TV ads sponsored by the NRA in support of Trump.
It is customary for presidential candidates to address the annual convention of the NAACP.
Clinton also said the recent killings of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge are “madness” that “has to stop”.
“This unfounded allegation has been widely debunked”, the Clinton campaign said.
The former secretary of state was also in OH today, speaking at the NAACP convention that Trump skipped and at an organizing event of her own.

The Republican National Committee released a statement in response to Clinton’s remarks to the NAACP. “Hillary Clinton’s platitudes on gun control and public safety will not ensure an America in which both civilians and law enforcement can feel safe in their own neighborhoods”. “Our Votes Matter.” Clinton told the group that “Donald Trump can not be our president” before laying out a plan to mobilize voters, including holding 500 voter registration events throughout the country this coming week.
