Many companies are offering their services free of charge for customers contacting loved ones in France in light of recent events.
At the time of writing, AT&T is the only carrier among the USA “Big Four” not to offer free calls to France following the attacks.
Google has undertaken a similar role by providing the same service for its Hangouts users, which can now use the application to contact family and friends in France for no charge. All Sprint postpaid and prepaid customers from anywhere around the world will receive free worldwide long distance usage to France until a yet-to-be determined date. Home telephone customers can make free calls to France from their USA landlines.
Cox Communications gave 60 minutes of free calls to landline and mobile numbers in France between 13-16 November.
