The new tablet is also reported to have a six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor which is considered as one of the fast mobile chips today.
The Asus ZenPad Z8 will cost ¢249.99 as a one off payment or it can be paid over 24 months on Verizon’s monthly installment plan. The machine runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.
A full list of specifications can be accessed through the Asus ZenPad Z8’s product page on Verizon Wireless, where the tablet can be preordered as well.
The Asus ZenPad Z8 tablet is now available to pre-order, exclusively from Verizon.
However, Asus’ “ZenPad Z8” tablet does meet the iPad Mini 4 in nearly all aspects, the area that the new Android tablet really triumphs against Apple’s device is the price. Keeping the lights on this tablet is a 4680 mAh non-removable battery which should be sufficient to power the device throughout the day and it can be charged via USB Type-C.
Dual-front facing stereo speakers and DTS-HD support deliver premium audio. Furthermore, the cellular-ready ZenPad Z8 ships at the same prices while the iPad Mini 4 variant starts at $529.
The device comes with a 7.9-inch wide display that has a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels (~324 ppi pixel density). The ZenPad Z8 is also equipped with a dedicated Adreno 510 graphics processor, which is created to process 4K video without any problems.
After being leaked at the end of May this year and weeks of waiting, the ASUS ZenPad Z8 has finally been launched. Other notable features are the 4680mAh battery, and Verizon claims a 13-hour battery life. It is also the first tablet from ASUS to feature a Snapdragon chipset in the U.S.
