Verizon Communications Rating Lowered to Hold at Zacks (VZ)

(NYSE:VZ). As per the latest information, the brokerage house lowers the price target to $44 per share from a prior target of $45.

Shares of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) traded down 0.40% during midday trading on Tuesday, reaching $47.66. The company has a market cap of $194,543 million.

Analysts on the Street are anticipating earnings per share of $1.02 for the quarter, on a consensus basis. Total Service incomes fell 3% to $1,377.2 million while Product incomes declined 9% year over year to $43.9 million. On average, equities research analysts predict that Verizon Communications will post $3.95 earnings per share for the current year. Of the $183.4 million spent on TV ads in July, T-Mobile was responsible for 23.2 percent or $42.5 million, which it spent on 12 different ads that were shown 6,000 times. Stockholders of record on Friday, July 10th were paid a $0.55 dividend. The Ex-Dividend date, which is often the most important to investors, would be 2015-07-08.

Several other research firms have also weighed in on VZ.

A wireless price war might be easing, says MoffettNathanson, which upgraded Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) to buy on valuation vs. AT&T (NYSE:T) and upside from mobile video services. Scotiabank cut their target price on shares of Verizon Communications from $55.00 to $53.00 in a report on Wednesday, July 22nd. Macquarie downgraded shares of Verizon Communications from a “neutral” rating to an “underperform” rating in a research report on Wednesday, May 20th. Canaccord Genuity reissued a “buy” rating and set a $54.00 price objective on shares of Verizon Communications in a research report on Tuesday, July 21st. Verizon caved after criticism from Federal Communications Commission Chairman Tom Wheeler, so the 4G throttling never went into effect.

Wireless’ communications products and services include wireless voice and data services and equipment sales, which are supplied to government, business and consumer customers over the United States.
