Users of Verizon-locked LG V10 units will start to receive an OTA notification for an Android Marshmallow download and update anytime today.

If reports are anything to go by, LG V10 is now receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The carrier has announced that the Android 6.0 update will begin rolling out tomorrow. The company hasn’t mentioned the size of the upgrade, but since it won’t be stock Android, you should expect a gigabyte size, at least. However, the carrier says that users need to ensure they have a stable Wi-Fi connection or a strong cellular signal before embarking on the update process. Considering that the LG V10 is a flagship-tier device that just came out at the end of 2015, it’s always been a question of when, not if, it would get its Android 6.0 update.

As for the update itself, it shouldn’t be a very large download, because Verizon isn’t recommending a Wi-Fi only process. As expected, the update will bring all of the features that you’d normally expect from the current-generation Android version, such as Google Now on Tap, the battery-saving Doze mode, individual app permissions, as well as a range of performance and battery life tweaks.

According to Verizon, the updates will be arriving as software version number MMB29M.G930VVRU2APB5 for S7 and MMB29M.G935VVRU2APB5 for the S7 edge, and improves WiFi connectivity.

We hope this is not a mistake on Verizon’s part, and if it isn’t, you should see it start the rollout tomorrow. We assume LG has also fixed some bugs. Note if you’re keen to get this update, and this waiting game is not your thing, then you can check manually whether or not your device has gone the update or not.
