The family of Virginia shooter Vester L. Flanagan – who killed two former colleagues on live television Wednesday morning – has expressed their “deepest condolences” to the loved ones of his victims.
According to authorities, the rental vehicle Flanagan shot himself inside of contained six magazines of ammunition, a to-do list, 17 stamped letters, three license plates, a wig, sunglasses and a shawl. The woman Parker was interviewing, Vicki Gardner, was shot in the back and was in good condition at a hospital.
In a report in January 2013 – a month before he was sacked by the station – assistant news director Greg Baldwin detailed more of the allegations Flanagan made against Parker. In a 23-page document sent to ABC news, Flanagan states that his motive behind the attack was to get revenge for the Charleston church shooting.
Disturbed: Parker and Ward were killed by a disgruntled former employee of their news station, Vester Lee Flanagan II, who was fired two years ago. Ward died of shots to his head and torso, she said.
Vicki Gardner, 61, revealed the horrifying details of Wednesday’s shooting in Moneta, Virginia, via her husband Tim after emerging from a medically induced coma.
Police say Flanagan fatally shot himself hours later while driving on I-66 in Fauquier County.

“This was being recorded by Adam Ward; Bryce turned his attention to him and said something about paparazzi, told Adam he needed to “lose your big gut”, and again flipped the camera off”, the memo notes, according to WBAL.
“If we can save one life, we need to do that”, he said.
