Veteran’s Day parade may impact morning commute
More than 25,000 people are expected to march today as the 96th annual Veterans Day Parade makes its way up Fifth Avenue.

Columbia is honoring the nation’s veterans with a parade on Veterans Day.
The parade will begin and end at Lot K on Clinton Avenue.
Music for the event starts at 10:30 a.m. with a veterans service at 11 a.m. ahead of the parade.
Commerce Street between 2nd and 4th Avenues and 3rd Avenue from Church Street to Korean Veterans Boulevard will be closed at 10:30 a.m.to allow for dispersal of parade elements. The roads should reopen by 2 p.m.
If you plan to head to the parade, you’ll want to get there early to find parking.
This Veterans Day, a few businesses are showing their support for those who have served our country.

The Broadway exit from Interstate 40 will be closed at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast begins at 6:00 a.m. and the cost is $5 for pancakes, courtesy of IHop. The Battlefield Memorial Parkway, sponsored by the Madison County Commission and Chairman Dale Strong and the Battlefield Memorial, sponsored by Parsons, will also be unveiled. The parade continues west on Liberty Street toward Montgomery Street.
