Post offices: Closed; no regular mail delivery. Webster Bank, Citizens Bank, Washington Trust, Sovereign Bank, Coastway Credit Union, Greenwood Credit Union and Bank of America’s holiday schedules report that their bank branches are also closed on Veterans Day. Hospitals don’t close, but you should call ahead to make sure the specialists you’re seeking are in.
Garbage: Regular pickup schedule for SSC and Nooksack Valley Disposal, but trucks likely will be earlier than usual.
Locally, the City of Grand Junction offices will be closed.
Banks: Most are closed.
National Parks are open. The NYSE and NASDAQ do not observe Veterans Day and will operate as normal. The US bond markets will be closed.
Nearly all other businesses will be open Wednesday with many restaurants offering deals to veterans, so the wait may be a bit longer.
