His wife, Jennifer Thalasinos, told the New York Times he wore traditional Jewish tassels and identified as politically conservative.

Beck said his wife, Barb, who still works as a Cape May health inspector, had spoken to Thalasinos on Sunday regarding cancer surgery. The page says the couple “shared their love for science fiction and fantasy and had a very deep, spiritual relationship”.
A picture of the couple that has been widely circulating on the internet since the shooting shows Nicholas wearing a tallit, or Jewish prayer shawl, around his neck.
With more stories of those killed in San Bernardino on Wednesday, one of them was Michael Wetzel. Stephens told The News she overheard a conversation between Thalasinos and Farook on the topic of Israel two weeks before the deadly shooting. Law enforcement agencies are treating this shooting as a possible terror attack. “He was a good person”. Farook responded that Americans don’t understand Islam, to which Thalasinos said, “I don’t know how to talk with him”, the Associated Press reported based on an account from a friend of Thalasinos who overheard the exchange.
“While the family is in the early stages of grieving we are preparing to give them meals”, the church website said.
According to a fundraising post on youcaring.com, about 8 hours later, Renee Wetzel received word that her husband had been killed. “Without him, this family will never be the same”.
However, Stephens said his grieving wife told her later Thursday to tell the media that she now “believes her husband was martyred for his faith and beliefs”. “He didn’t say anything about feeling like he was being threatened by this Syed person or anything like that”.
The San Bernardino County Coroner on Thursday released the names of those killed at a health department holiday party at a government conference center. We appreciate all the love and support that everyone is showing. More details are coming out about the other victims, including Betbadal, a mother of three, who moved to the U.S. from Iran to escape religious persecution.
His daughter, Tina M. Meins, told the Orange County Register that her father came out of retirement in September to work for the San Bernardino County of Environmental Health Services.

“You will never sucsseed to make a country for Jews, because you are criminals and cowards, you are juste using usa and Europe to fight for you, soon you’ll get your ass kicked, you will die and never see Israel as country believe me never”, the message read, according to Thalasinos.
