Victor Cruz could miss several more weeks after aggravating calf in practice

He went so far as to say, “I’m convinced I’m playing Sunday”. “We’re excited to see him dance a little bit, so hopefully he gets in the end zone”.

Victor Cruz’s season debut may have to wait a little longer.

“We’re going about our business”, Manning said.

“I think it’s great for our team”, Amukamara said. However as people wrapped up, Cruz walked to the sidelines, having felt one thing in his nagging left calf. “But like I said, there will be a day when he comes back when he’s ready”. “‘Take as much time as possible” because we don’t want him to hurt it even worse than what it is and have to be out even longer.

“We worked pretty hard at practice, made a lot of plays, so we have confidence in Eli getting into the checks we’ll need to during the game. We’re going to try to get with him once to see how he feels and just wish him the best”. “In the Desert Storm Super Bowl, a short week, we were able to come in from San Francisco after another incredible win and have an opportunity to play in the Super Bowl and win it”. Cruz didn’t mention whether he’d be taking part, although the team would presumably want to see him get through a session or two before throwing him out in a game situation.

So for now, the Giants look set to go into their second straight game with just four healthy receivers.

Now, nearly nothing was known on Wednesday about the extent of Cruz’s setback, except that he was supposed to be “limited” at practice and then couldn’t do more than a few individual drills. I think we have enough talent to hold it down while he’s out. He wrote that “their defense is a mediocre unit”, they are now short of pass rush because Jason Pierre-Paul is injured, and their front seven is not as strong as well.

Cruz brings another receiving threat alongside Odell Beckham Jr. and Reuben Randle. But I’m happy we got that victory, happy we played well as a team, so we have something to kind of build off of.
