So far the app has support for the HERO3 camera, and in the near future it will also support the newer HERO4 camera.

The app enables users to stream live video from their mobile device, with the clips staying available for 72 hours after the broadcast ends.
For Meerkat, high definition may be the first true killer feature that separates it from rival Periscope. A forthcoming update app will bring the functionality to GoPro 4 cameras as well.
In a teaser video posted to Twitter Thursday, the live streaming app showed off the upcoming feature, which will be compatible with Meerkat’s iOS app.
As said by CNBC, the app will now allow live streaming directly from GoPro 3 cameras.
For Meerkat, integrating with GoPro is significant for a number of reasons. The company has yet to comment on whether or not the feature will eventually be rolled out on Android. Partnering with the biggest action camera maker on the market stands to increase Meerkat’s visibility quite a bit.

Meerkat, the livestreaming app that was squashed under the weight that is Twitter’s own Periscope, has decided to branch beyond mobile devices by adding support for GoPro’s HERO action camera.
