A woman has been pulled from a burning vehicle by bystanders after a fiery 10-car crash sparked by an out-of-control truck. When a truck drove through multiple lanes August 25 in Binghamton, NY, a fearless group of individuals fled into action and it was all caught on dashcam footage!

“Dramatic dash camera video of last week’s 10-vehicle pileup on Route 17 in the City of Binghamton”. In the footage, a massive truck plowing right through the intersection of traffic, crashing into cars in its path.

One of the vehicles is seen resting against the central divide, engulfed in flames.

Drivers are then seen running towards the burning vehicle, reaching into the window and bravely dragging the woman driver to safety.

Finally a man rushes up with a fire extinguisher and puts out the flames, and then a group of people wrest the woman free and carry her to safety.

On Monday, Mayor Richard David posted to his Facebook page a almost three-minute video depicting the initial moments of the tumultuous wreck on the eastbound lanes.

He says: “These courageous individuals navigated through flames and broken glass to save a stranger’s life”.

“The woman suffered only minor cuts and bruises”, David said. Miraculously, the crash resulted in no fatalities. Police are also hoping that this dashcam video will help them identify the bystanders who saved the trapped woman. Binghamton is safer because of you.

The cause of the crash is unclear, according to Binghamton police, but the tractor trailer’s brakes were not the cause, as WBNG 12 News reports. The driver of that tractor-trailer was cited for operating an out-of-service vehicle. How courageous are these individuals?!
