Video captures unsafe street racing on quiet Beverly Hills road

In the video the cars are seen screaming through residential streets, an area neighbors claim children play, before returning to the $10 million rented house in which the owner resides with smoke billowing from under the Ferrari’s hood.

Residents captured the two high-performance cars, a white Porsche 9/11 and a yellow Ferrari LaFerrari, tearing through a residential neighborhood at around 6:45 p.m. PT Friday afternoon in the 700 block of North Walden Drive. Residents called the police to report the reckless driving, ABC’s Los Angeles station KABC-TV reported.

“My boys were out in the street biking and it was very scary”. Near the end of the video, police could be seen arriving in the driveway where the Ferrari, its engine smoking, was parked.

A Qatari driver who raced a luxury sports vehicle at near-triple-digit speeds around Beverly Hills on Saturday has claimed diplomatic immunity after being confronted by police.

Journalist Jacob Rogers says he tried to ask a man why they were racing and endangering lives, but the man cursed at him and told him to get off the property. Cellphone video showed the vehicles speeding and running stop signs.

“When Rogers tried again another time, he says the man said, “‘F-America’ and he threw a cigarette at me and that was before he indicated he could kill me and get away with it”.

Since the officers did not directly observe the violations, they were unable to issue a citation, the release stated.

“The Beverly Hills Police Department has been in contact with the United States Department of State in regards to the diplomatic status of the individuals involved and the legality of those vehicles being operated on a roadway in the State of California”, the statement added.

“I only live down there I was scared to go home any second 80 miles per hour vehicle could come and hit all of us”, Ashton Levian.
