Video game tournaments to start drug testing players

The announcement came after a competitive video game player said in a YouTube video posted last week that he and his team used the drug Adderall during a tournament in March where players competed for $250,000 in prize money.

In the interview with Mohan “Launders” Govindasamy this month, Mr Friesen joked about Aderall being the reason he sounded “hectic” during the competition.

“We wish to ensure we can provide a fair playing field for all participating players”, the organization said. I don’t even give a fuck.

“Just throwing that out there for the fans”, Mr Govindasamy said flipantly, “that’s how you get good”.

The Electronic Sports League, or commonly referred to as ESL, has recently released a statement regarding the previous drug controversy which surrounded the “Counter Strike: Global Offensive”.

Aderall is a stimulant medication for people with attention defecit hyperactivity disorder and is only available on perscription.

More than 21 million people tuned into Twitch broadcasts from the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) video game industry extravaganza that took place mid-June in Los Angeles, according to the Amazon-owned company.

In partnership with the Nationale Anti-Doping Agentur (NADA) of Germany and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), ESL has announced that the program “will help ensure that all players are provided with the information and structural support they need to help them manage the physical and emotional pressure of professional gaming”, said on their official statement. ESL will begin PED skin tests at ESL One Cologne in August, and roll out testing at every Intel Extreme Masters, ESL One and ESL ESEA Pro League event thereafter.

“To play a match, be it online or offline, under the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or other performance enhancers is strictly prohibited, and may be punished with exclusion”.

Competitors will be kept informed about the new regulations, list of banned substances, methods of testing, and consequences for doping, the ESL said.
