A graphic video of the Florida State quarterback De’Andre Johnson allegedly punching a young woman at a bar was released Monday. He retaliates with a shot to her face.

Florida State head football coach Jimbo Fisher announced Monday evening that freshman De’Andre Johnson has been dismissed from the football team effective immediately.
Florida State Quarterback De’Andre Johnson lost his cool and straight up slugged a woman in the face while at a Tallahassee bar on June 24.
“Hopefully this won’t destroy the rest of his life”, Johnson’s attorney, Jose Baez, told Channel 9.
She was left with bruising, swelling and a cut on her face, as indicated by court documents.
Johnson was suspended indefinitely by Florida State following his arrest. Johnson allegedly hit the woman hard above her left eye, where she reportedly still had a bruise when she met with prosecutors last Tuesday. “She knees him in the groin and then she takes a swing at him before he responded”.
State attorney Willie Meggs, who made a decision to charge Johnson after watching video of the incident, said the woman still had a black eye when he met with her last week.
Even though the incident occurred a month ago, the surveillance footage has just been released. Johnson had been suspended after the June 24 incident. The victim has decided to move forward with battery charges as well. Baez said in a news release he “would investigate the accusations against Johnson thoroughly”, reports the paper.

The woman is shown being comforted by friends, who asked bartenders for assistance. Junior Sean Maguire and graduate transfer Everett Golson are expected to be the main competitors for the vacant starting spot.
