Video shows Slipknot’s lead singer smack phone out of fan’s hand

In the photos and (very brief) video below, watch as Taylor smacks the phone out of a front-row fan’s hand.

All this was ironically caught by various other crowd members filming Corey on their phones, as well as an official Slipknot cameraman.

Corey Taylor, frontman of iconic Iowa metal group Slipknot, doesn’t seem too keen on fans who text at his shows. The fan then looks up sheepishly and actually starts focusing on the show he paid good money to see, so all we can say to Taylor is, “Well done, brother”. Taylor’s ire is understandable; he’s performing with a neck brace due to a recent injury, the least the guy could do is pay attention.

“So I emptied four bottles into her, and oh my God, it had to have broken her phone”. As Taylor gets closer, the fan eventually looks up.

A representative for the band shared the clip on Twitter.com on Sunday night (10Jul16), but Corey’s actions sparked a backlash among some social media users, who complained about how he handled the incident.

Another fan wrote that compared to some of the wild stuff that goes down at Slipknot gigs – including actual band members jumping into the crowd to “sort out” fights – Corey was actually showing “mercy” to the bloke in the yellow t-shirt.
