Vienna hosts Cancer Congress in eve of Breast Cancer Month

Buying an item with the famous breast cancer awareness pink ribbon on it might not be going to the cause you want to support.

The Apopka Police Department is teaming up with Debbie Turner’s Cancer Care and Resource Center for events throughout October.

“Not only can we better choose the right treatment combination as our information about the primary tumour increases, and hence prevent over-treating patients who will not benefit, but this will also help us select the right therapy for each breast cancer patient”.

“This is a collaborative effort on our part and our community partnerships to not only address the lack of services in our area but to also assess the impact we are making”, Julie McMahon, director of missions at Komen Columbus, said.

With this weekend’s kick-off of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Citizen publishes today’s annual “Read Pink” edition.

This is a great way to raise and awareness for Breast Cancer, as one in eight women will get Breast Cancer, as stats provided by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation note. The Pan-African Student Union (PASU) club would like to join the frontier of the fight against cancer by hosting Balling for Breast Cancer on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at 6:30 p.m.in Hardwood Arena.

Bridgestone is running a Facebook page facebook.com/pinkcapdrive to support the campaign and share inspirational stories of those who have been affected by breast cancer. Many of their suppliers have special packaging in October with information about breast cancer.
