‘View’ Cast Fired After Nurse Comments?
Behar admitted that she did not even know Johnson was a nurse.

Kelley Johnson, a Windsor native and Colorado’s contender in the Miss America pageant, took an unusual route in the competition when she gave a touching monologue about the relationship between nurses and their patients through the lens of her time with Joe, a patient of hers with Alzheimer’s disease. Snuggle, Party City and McCormick have followed in the footsteps of Johnson & Johnson and Eggland’s Best and had their ads removed from the ABC talk show, according to The Wrap.
“The View” co-hosts treated Johnson’s moment like a comedian’s stand-up routine.
“They weren’t the first people to trivialize the importance of the nurse and all that we do, and they won’t be the last”.
“The View” has lost five major sponsors after two of its co-hosts apparently derided the nursing profession and a Miss America contestant during a show last week.
In the segment, Collins dismissed Johnson’s monologue about nursing by joking that she was basically just reading her e-mails, while Behar wondered why Johnson wore a “doctor’s stethoscope”, presumably because she didn’t realize nurses regularly use such devices, too. “I was like, that’s not a real talent”.
Collins also stated how the audience should look for the monologue if they did not see it because, “I swear to God, it was hilarious”.
Hundreds of nurses have already entered the giveaway, but Tortorice is continuing to get the word out and she looking forward to nurses proudly taking selfies with their prizes. “It’s about them, not about me”.
The controversy continued on Wednesday, when Behar and Collins attempted to apologize for their remarks about nurses. “It was just stupid and inattentive”.
New Jersey’s Dr. Oz is the latest media figure to address the controversy over comments made by hosts from “The View” about Miss Colorado’s nurse monologue at Miss America.
“It’s actually been a blessing in disguise because so many now are talking about how much we do and how educated we are and how much we care and, really, how serious our job is and how hard we have to work”, Johnson told Oz.

McCormick replied on Facebook to an upset consumer, “Like you, we also value and admire nurses, so we have paused advertising on the daytime television show”, TMZ reported. It’s a steep drop since founder Barbara Walters left the show previous year.
