Viewers FUMING at This Morning’s Great British Bake Off presenters announcement

Are you gutted that Sue and Mel won’t be hosting the show when it moves to Channel 4?

‘They are offering them big money, more input into the show, the works.

“BBC Worldwide continues to hold global format rights (excluding North America) for Bake Off for the next 12 years”, a spokesman told C21.

And to add insult to injury for anxious fans, we could have to wait until 2018 to watch the next series because of a one-year break clause between the BBC and Love Productions, the company behind the smash hit.

In a statement, Love Productions said: “We would like to thank Mel and Sue for bringing their own unique humour to the tent over the past years and we respect their decision not be part of the Bake Off team on Channel 4”.

Produced in-house by the BBC, the show documented the quest to find the country’s best amateur hair stylist through a series of hairdressing challenges, a bit like GBBO does with bakers.

The number of viewers watching The Great British Bake Off went up by more than half a million on Wednesday compared with the previous week.

A spokesman said: We would be delighted if the presenters and judges want to come to Channel 4.

“Great British Bake Off will have a safe home”.

Bake Off risked leaving free-to-air television altogether, with Amazon and Netflix circling the programme as negotiations between the producers and the BBC broked down, Ms Hunt suggested.

Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood could be the next stars to jump ship.

The source has also hinted that Berry’s allegiance is with the BBC and that “the top bosses are pretty confident they will be able to secure her”.

That would have been double the amount the BBC now pays for the show and its sister programmes such as An Extra Slice and the Sport Relief specials.

“I think they have completely undermined their case against privatisation, that’s the first thing to say.

I think it will gradually slip down but we’ll see”.

However, it seems that her husband Paul Hunnings has spoken out on her behalf and has seeming confirmed that Mary is staying put and will NOT follow the show to Channel 4.
