Worldwide roughly 37 million people are now living with the HIV or AIDS.

In our state, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services says there were 61 new cases of HIV a year ago. John barry, executive director of the Southern Tier AIDS Project, says the state’s strategy has three major components: esting anyone and everyone for HIV, getting those who test positive into treatment, and finally, making sure they stay in treatment.
Robinson says: “World AIDS Day is as important now as it has ever been, but for new reasons”. “We need to provide adolescent girls and young women with access to education and real options to protect themselves from HIV”.
“With a combination of continued condom use, more testing, immediate access to treatment and PrEP we can end HIV transmissions within a decade”. Sheen said he chose to go public about his health because he was exhausted of paying blackmail money to those who wanted to ruin his career. “Stigma is also responsible for many who hide and do not come out so that they receive help from our health institutions because they fear to be judged and condemned”, said EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, voicing the party’s World Aids Day message.
Local organizations gathered at World’s Fair Park to mark World Aids Day.
“According to International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC) Guidelines 2015, an estimated 50 per cent of people living with HIV (PLHIV) globally are unaware of their status”.
World AIDS Day is now held every December first to raise awareness about the global AIDS pandemic and to honor those who have died from the virus. And thanks to President Obama’s leadership, bipartisan support in Congress, and the generosity of the American people, that number will grow to 12.9 people by the end of 2017.
