The Eagles traded quarterback Sam Bradford to the Vikings on Sunday in a move that executive vice president Howie Roseman called an opportunity that “we had to take advantage of”.
The Vikings paid an enormous price for the veteran quarterback.
Before Thursday night’s preseason finale, Spielman insisted the Vikings were not desperate and said they would not make a move that would “hurt us going into the future”.
In that trade, the Eagles gave Cleveland their 2016 first-round pick (No. 8), third-round pick (No. 77) and fourth-round pick (No. 100), plus the Eagles’ 2017 first-round pick and a 2018 second-round pick. “One, because of amount of draft picks we have and two, a lot of the teams that I’ve spoken with [were asking] for some of our younger players who are Pro Bowlers or significant players on this roster”.
The Vikings won the NFC North last season and acquiring Bradford means they clearly think they will compete again. The former No. 1 overall pick missed the entire 2014 season with a knee injury. Given the options though, Bradford was probably the best player we could have gotten.

The Vikings will try to replicate the season they had a year ago and get even farther in the playoffs, but it’s going to be an uphill battle with newcomer, Bradford coming onto the team.
It’s not like the Eagles have much invested in Carson Wentz. None other than Hill.

If he can’t get Bradford to finally fulfill his potential, no one will.

We all hope this is the year it clicks for Bradford.
The Vikings also have to be fearing that Bridgewater’s freak injury could be a career-ender. In addition to a dislocated knee and a torn ACL, he suffered other structural damage that could keep him out past the start of the 2017 season. Bridgewater is under contract with Minnesota through 2018, giving the Vikings some flexibility if there are any setbacks with their starter’s recovery process.

Bradford could potentially play in Week 2 when the Vikings host the Green Bay Packers in their shiny new stadium.
