Vikings acquire Sam Bradford from Eagles by trading two draft picks
1 overall draft pick in 2010 by the Rams, was ensconced as the Eagles’ starter and signed a lucrative two-year contract.

Back in March, Bradford was resigned to a two year $36 million deal. He regretted the decision after the Eagles traded several draft picks to select Wentz.
Wentz has not played since suffering a hairline rib fracture in the team’s first preseason game, and Philadelphia’s coaching staff could choose to wait to start him until their Week 2 matchup against the Chicago Bears. NFL.com reported that Wentz will start Week 1 if his broken ribs from the preseason heal fast enough.
While the Eagles other option at QB, Chase Daniel, failed to impress during his multiple appearances in the preseason, it would seem the smarter option to open the season with a healthier and more experienced QB instead of Carson Wentz starting right away.
The Minnesota Vikings were left with a gaping hole at their quarterback position when Teddy Bridgewater went down with a season-ending knee injury, but the team made a big move to fill that position on Saturday.
Also let go Saturday were a trio of former Missouri players: tight end Marcus Lucas from the Panthers, linebacker Zaviar Gooden by the Lions, and tight end Clayton Echard from the Seahawks.
The Vikings will try to replicate the season they had past year and get even farther in the playoffs, but it’s going to be an uphill battle with newcomer, Bradford coming onto the team.
The Vikings shipped off their 2017 first round pick along with a conditional fourth rounder for the veteran quarterback. I would try to avoid Bradford unless you are using him as a one week replacement for a bye week. It was Roseman and team owner Jeffrey Lurie that paid close attention to Wentz’s pregame workout before the Eagles played the Indianapolis Colts two weeks ago. Bradford was a Heisman trophy winning first overall pick that was supposed to be the next great quarterback, and it never happened.
This makes the NFC East, already the worst division in the National Football League, a two-team race: Giants vs. Washington, Manning vs. Kirk Cousins.
Forget about the almost invisible numbers put up by Manning and the first team offense in the two preseason games that rookie coach Ben McAdoo allowed them to play – the preseason means little or nothing – because Manning is coming off a career-high 35 TD passes and his weapons have improved.
The Browns’ opener in Philadelphia Sept. 11 just became a lot more intriguing.

The veteran also has a history with head coach Doug Pederson, who was Daniel’s offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2013 through 2015. During his career, Long has started 47 of his 48 games, and will be key to keeping quarterback Jay Cutler upright for the next four years.
