Vikings and Adrian Peterson Mutually Agree to Restructured Contract
After appearing in just one game in 2014 due to his alleged child abuse against his son, it was hinted by Peterson that he was not happy in Minnesota.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, the new contract has a base salary of $44 million for the next three years.
In a statement, Peterson said he appreciates their willingness to address his contract to provide him “additional security”. “It was important for me to continue my career in Minnesota, and I can not wait to get on the field in front of Vikings fans again”.
With his new deal, Peterson got “additional security”.
Peterson has been chasing guaranteed money for a while now.
The last ten months have been quite the headache for Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. A staple of draft day trade rumors, Peterson later held out of the Vikings organized team activities in search of a new contract, before giving in and re-joining the team in June.
Minnesota Vikings managing back Adrian Peterson was greeted by dozens of supporters as he returned to his Texas hometown for the ninth once-a-year “Adrian Peterson Working day” after a time in which he did not perform. However, the two parties then resolved their differences, leading to the contract restructure which includes a guaranteed salary of $12.75m (£8.1m) in 2015. Factoring in his $250,000 workout bonus, that’s $18 million.
So if the Vikings aren’t a playoff team this season, Peterson’s roster bonus drops to $3 million in 2016. He’ll be aiming to help the Vikings improve upon their 7-9 record from a year ago and rise up the ranks of the NFL’s career rushing leaders along the way.

All in all, it’s a wise move for the Vikings and Peterson that should see the dynamic running back end his career in Viking purple; this is something that Vikings leadership is proud about most with the latest deal. Financial details weren’t disclosed, per team policy. His struggle for guaranteed cash reached its peak back in May, when he embarked upon a lengthy Twitter rant about the nature of National Football League contracts.
