Vikings’ Peterson has torn meniscus in knee
Late Sunday night, after Rodgers was central to Green Bay’s inept performance on offense in its 17-14 loss at the Minnesota Vikings, the veteran quarterback tried to calm the early-season concerns out of Packers Nation.

According to a Yahoo.com report Monday afternoon, the Vikings are weighing a partial fix that could get Peterson back as soon as four weeks. or a full fix that would knock him out for four months, which is the entire regular season. After the game, Peterson was on crutches with a brace on his knee.
“He’s as talented as they come and we’ve got to protect him a little bit better and not see him on the ground so often”, tight end Kyle Rudolph said. “So we’re going to keep plugging away and keep doing our very best to find a way to win”.
McCarthy said there’s no excuse for the sloppy play that did in the Packers as the first regular-season opponent for Minnesota in its new U.S. Bank Stadium. It would be hard to say either him or Lacy had worked up the kind of lather that sometimes allows a back to get a first down when there isn’t a hole.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers ran for a touchdown and threw for another, finishing with 213 yards on 20-of-36 passing. Unable to put any weight on his right leg after the play, Peterson hopped off the field, and soon was taken to the locker room.
The outcome: The Vikings take the ball back on downs at the Minnesota 13, and Bradford connects with Diggs for a catch-and-run that gained 46 yards two plays later.
Peterson finished the game with 19 yards on 12 carries Sunday after a slow start in Week 1, when he managed 31 yards on 19 carries against the Tennessee Titans. Until that happens, Zimmer said he did not want to disclose a timetable for when Peterson might return.
Vikings fans munching on chicken wings got to dine briefly with Adrian Peterson. Here they are after the Packers’ 17-14 loss at Minnesota.
That restaurant is the Delta Sky360 Club at U.S. Bank Stadium, according to the Star Tribune’s Michael Rand, where fans can hang out during the games.

Peterson has seen his fair share of injuries dating back to his college years at Oklahoma, but the 2012 league MVP has always seemed to bounce back. The Vikings second possession was worse than their first, thanks to a sack from Mike Daniels, which set the Vikings way back. The 37-year-old was filling in for Robert Griffin III, who broke a bone in his left shoulder in the season opener and will miss at least eight games. It’s just part of professional football. “Last night, I saw the ball was hanging out for me and I saw an opportunity to get it out of his hands”. But we got two turnovers late and I think those were the biggest plays of the game. “I don’t think we were quite aware of the situation”.
