Vikings’ players told Shaun Hill will start against Tennessee

The Minnesota Vikings will reportedly start veteran quarterback Shaun Hill over recently acquired quarterback Sam Bradford Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. ABOUT THE TITANS (2015: 3-13, fourth place in AFC South): Tennessee hopes its running game is one with which to reckon with the additions of Murray and 2016 second-round pick Derrick Henry, who captured the Heisman Trophy a year ago after rushing for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns – both SEC records – in his junior season at Alabama. The game charters at Pro Football Focus also ranked him No. 2 overall at the position, just a few points behind Arizona’s Tyrann Mathieu. Just like Peterson, his former Sooners teammate struggles out of the shotgun, a factor that contributed to his down season. Considering he’s a free agent next year, I don’t believe he will be back on the team in 2017.

“They’ve been waiting all offseason for the opportunity to see the new-look Titans, and we can not disappoint”, Orakpo said.

The challenge of clearing the way for Peterson may not be as easy at it first appears, though. Adrian Peterson remains as the team’s leading running back and hopes to improve on a very good 2015 season that saw AP rush for almost 1,500 yards and 11 scores. The Vikings won the NFC North title for the first time since 2009 last season, and their trade for Bradford clearly shows they have every intention of taking that crown again in 2016. It’s a lot of new faces but excited to have them and I look forward to being on the field with them.

Zimmer said Thursday that Bridgewater underwent successful surgery earlier that day.

“They’re physical up front, they move a lot, they’ll stunt, they get off blocks well, they attack downhill with the linebackers”, he said of the Titans’ run defense.

Minnesota opens non-conference plays against the Tennessee Titans before taking on Houston in Week 5 before their bye week. “You have to get up and do something”. “Really, both of the quarterbacks have had good preseasons, but I would anticipate that, and if he doesn’t, it’s not going to change the way we prepare”.

It’s also important to remember that Peterson may be a little rusty in the first couple weeks of the season since he didn’t get any reps during the preseason. Treadwell had 82 receptions for over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Rebels in 2015.

The two have split reps with the first-team offense in practice this week. Just two days prior to the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, the anxiety is building.
