Vikings QB Bridgewater scheduled for Thursday surgery

One of the biggest stories leading up to the start of the 2016 National Football League season was the Sam Bradford trade out of Philadelphia to Minnesota.

Did Philadelphia sell their season with Bradford?

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater throws during warm ups before an August 12 preseason NFL football game with the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium. Even though the Vikings overpaid for Bradford I like this deal because they can still be competitive and have a chance at the playoffs. The Vikings have been part of the future talk for the past few seasons. His 3,725 yards passing in 14 games was the fourth-most in Eagles history, thriving down the stretch in coach Chip Kelly’s fast-paced scheme.

“We had to make a very hard decision on what’s going to give us the best chance to win”, Spielman said, adding: “I understand at times there’s a premium you have to pay”.

Hill would not share much about his state of mind.

Howie Roseman recounted the making of the Sam Bradford trade during an interview Tuesday with 97.5 the Fanatic. Bradford is hoping to put those injuries behind him and prove that he was worthy of being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. This is, after all, a team with postseason aspirations, and teams with postseason aspirations do not under any circumstance hand their starting quarterback job to Shaun Hill.

The other expected starters, including running back Adrian Peterson, are all listed with the first team. Shaun Hill, who backed up Bridgewater a year ago and has begun his 15th season in the league, is more likely to lead the huddle Sunday at Tennessee. He is going to be the workhorse for the Minnesota offense and will take a lot of pressure off of Bradford. I think Sam has a better head on his shoulders than Josh did at that point in his career. “I thought he was playing as well as anyone I saw past year”, Spielman explains.

“For us to do that, it would change the NFC North, it would change the NFC East, it would change the NFC as a whole”. The Carolina Panthers are an extremely unsafe team, along with the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and others. And that’s really the last we’ve seen of Josh Freeman. Those four teams are already penciled in, which gives the Vikings a couple more spots to compete for.

When running the same simulation with Sam Bradford quarterbacking the Vikings, the results are only slightly better. They discuss initial reactions, what it means for the Vikings, and how this might affect the quarterback position next year. “And [Spielman] was just taken aback”.
