Two days after a “freakish” season-ending injury to his knee, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has released a statement for the first time.

The Pioneer Press reports there has not been a surgery date set yet to fix Bridgewater’s knee.

Seifert at ESPN argues that the Vikings can’t count on Bridgewater’s availability being certain for the 2017 season. As Minnesota won 11 games in 2015, Bridgewater only threw for 14 touchdowns and the Vikings attempted fewer passes than any team in the NFL. The visible and audible frustration from Teddy’s teammates is a reflection of the team’s optimism going into the upcoming season.

“This is what you draft for, this is why you have depth and have a backup quarterback like Shaun Hill, a guy who’s been in big situations before and isn’t going to panic”. Moments later, a siren-blaring ambulance rushed to team headquarters to get the quarterback to the hospital.

2009 NFL Championship game – after being cautiously optimistic all season, right before the 12-men in the huddle penalty I said to my wife, “they’re actually going to do it this year”.

“I have gotten a lot of calls from a lot of people about what happened to Teddy, from other coaches”, Zimmer said.

Bridgewater missed the second preseason game with a sore shoulder, but was sharp Sunday against San Diego. “We’re going to find a way”. “I thought we had a chance to make it far in the playoffs, new stadium, but that kind of flashed before my eyes, and I thought, not this year”, said Matt Sims, Minnesota Vikings fan. “It just was good to be able to talk to him and let him know, ‘We’ve got your back and we’re here with you'”.

“Our No. 1 concern is the welfare for our players”, Zimmer said. Even with what Brown said, there’s always the possibility of a deal sweet enough to peak his interest. “We all feel awful if it is real significant for Teddy”.

Also cut by the Vikings were offensive tackle Austin Shepherd, defensive end Theiren Cockran, offensive tackle Sean Hickey, tight end Brian Leonhardt, defensive tackle Claudell Louis, receiver Marken Michel, linebacker Terrance Plummer, wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield, quarterback Brad Sorensen and wide receiver Troy Stoudermire. But this is about the team. “I just told him, ‘Hang in there, and we hope the best for (him)”‘. This is about a team and it’s about us trying to figure out ways to win football games.
