Vikings’ regular-season schedule to be unveiled Thursday

Only in the National Football League is an announcement about the announcement of the regular-season schedule an event.

The schedule will also be released at that time on NFL.com (and if it’s like past years, it will also be unveiled on team websites at that time, as well). The final preseason game is September 1 at U.S. Bank Stadium against the relocated Rams of Los Angeles.

The actual schedule will be released later this evening, but discuss what we know.

NFL Network will televise a three-hour schedule-release special starting at 8:00 p.m. ET, which I plan to watch until one of the analysts starts trying to predict the outcome of games to be played in December.

Stay with Action 2 News for the Packers schedule as it is released.

Although the NFL put the schedule to bed on Wednesday, it will continue the tradition of waiting until a prime-time television show on NFL Network to make it public. In fact, unlike 30 other teams, we even already know the date, opponent, and site of one of their sixteen (16) regular season games.

The Broncos then beat the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots at home in the playoffs, then beat the Carolina Panthers, 24-10, in Super Bowl 50 on February 7 to win their third championship and first in 17 years.

Away: Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints. Denver will host that game on September 8.
