Vikings score 2 TDs off turnovers in beating Titans 25-16

No one played well in the lousy loss. The running back rushed 19 times for 31 yards in his first game action since the playoffs.

About midway through the second quarter of the game, head coach Mike Zimmer was shown to have his head down and his hands on knees. Here are some keys to the game for both teams. And that speaks volumes about the performance. With a second chance, Walsh still missed badly with the ball going way left out of the end zone. Then, Sunday, they found themselves down 10-0 at halftime after allowing the Titans to move the ball effectively on the ground and through the air. He finished with 11 touchdowns. But that’s going to be part of the deal, but it’s also going to open up other areas.

Kind of surprising to see the Vikings favored in this one on the road, especially now that Teddy Bridgewater is no longer available. We then heard (and saw) what a great spring he had and started to hope for the best for a CP revitalization. Simply put, the 23-year-old’s upper leg went off his lower leg, and in more advanced terms, he suffered a tibiofemoral dislocation and ruptured ACL that will keep him out for all of this season and possibly some of the next.

Yes, the Vikings may not have been saying who their starting quarterback would be Sunday in Nashville against the Tennessee Titans. But Sam Bradford, acquired on September 3 from Philadelphia, will loom over Hill and the offense until Hill either produces enough to keep a job or coach Mike Zimmer has to pull the plug.

“The defense came through for us and made some big plays”, Peterson understated.

When everything is said and done, the Vikings, depending on how they do this month, will finish with a 10-6 or 9-7. That’s how I looked at them.

Zimmer and the Vikings believe they can still achieve goals that were in place before Bridgewater went down. “You take care of the football, make the right plays and I thought he did good”. “From what happens after that, it’s not up to me”.

I know you’ve been waiting with bated breath for my preseason prognostication on the Minnesota Vikings. [Jurrell] Casey’s a good player up front, [Brian] Orakpo’s is a good player, [Derrick] Morgan is a good player, they were physical at the point of attack and they were physical in some times.

“I feel like we’re more prepared, more determined, more disciplined, and a smarter team than past year”.

While 18 total touches is hardly something to get too excited about, it may give us a sign on how the Tennessee offense will function this season.

Minnesota will more than likely need some better production from their offense (perhaps some points even) when they play their first home game of the 2016 regular season against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.

Yes, A.P. needs to start running like A.P. You can’t expect the Vikings to be able to do much with their pass game and the Titans’ run game should still be a work in progress despite the new backs. He might not have done enough to secure the starting job going forward, however.
