Vikings Trade for QB Sam Bradford

Bradford’s departure means backup Chase Daniel will start theseason as Philadelphia’s No. 1 quarterback. And though the trade came as a surprise, being a professional that he is, Bradford arrived at Winter Park Saturday afternoon.

Sam Bradford has begun his crash course in Minnesotas offense. The Vikings have been planning to make versatile running back Jerick McKinnon more of an integral part of the offence, too. Since then, he’s frantically been studying to get up to speed.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey, though, didn’t sound fazed by the Vikings’ subterfuge on Wednesday, saying the two quarterbacks are “not two completely different styles” and adding that common sense suggests Bradford will be the starter sooner rather than later. Zimmer said he will tell the team when he has made his decision. “Who wouldn’t? So we’ll see (if he starts)”.

Losing star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a sudden season-ending knee injury was a huge blow and sent shock waves through the Vikings nation.

For now, Zimmer said the two quarterbacks will be splitting the first-team reps.

2016 has already been a whirlwind of a season for Hill and the Vikings haven’t even played their first regular season game yet. He went through his second Monday, and spoke afterward to reporters.

“That’s the goal, to progress to that point to where I feel comfortable enough to get out there and play if I’m needed to”, Bradford said. Bradford relented and rejoined the Eagles during the offseason. The Vikings tied for seventh a year ago with 43 sacks, and there’s the potential to land higher.

With just days before the opening Sunday of the National Football League season, Bradford must adjust quickly.

Everything changed when Bridgewater suffered a dislocated left knee and torn anterior cruciate ligament on the practice field.

“In order to have a testimony, you have to have a test”, Bridgewater said last week. “We rallied around the guys in the locker room”. What really was significant for us was the second year of the contract with Sam. They gave up a first-round pick, while also trading a fourth-round pick. He was ready for the challenge in front of him and appeared to have the backing of everyone in the Vikings organization, from the players to general manager Rick Spielman. 3, 2016, to the Minnesota Vikings for a pair of draft picks. “Everybody can count us out if they want, but I think that’d be the wrong thing to do”. I know our coaches wanted him. When Bradford was listed as a starting QB for Eagles, the simulation gave them 7 wins and 19% probability of reaching the playoffs, which isn’t great. “You have to keep going and try to win a game”.

In the 2015 season, Bradford posted 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, and completed 65 percent of his passes.
