Vikings’ Zimmer on missed FG: ‘Got to make it’

Social media hasn’t been kind to Walsh and the Vikings after a defeat that seemed colder than the sub-zero temperatures the game was contested in.

The other Wildcard game in the NFC was between the Washington Redskins and the Green Bay Packers. It’s the first road-team sweep that has happened since the current playoff format was adopted in 1990.

The offense was stagnant until Wilson made his latest signature play, chasing down a snap that came when he wasn’t ready for it and turning it into a 35-yard pass to Tyler Lockett.

After the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Minnesota Vikings 10-9 in Sunday’s playoff game, head coach Pete Carroll talked about why running back Marshawn Lynch decided Friday as the team was leaving that he couldn’t play Sunday and decided not to travel to Minnesota. “And he missed it. There was a lot of believing and a lot of hope at that time when it was all but hopeless”. “He’s got to make it”, said Zimmer, who did not speak with Walsh directly after the game. But this time his holder Jeff Locke failed to spin the laces away, as kickers prefer.

“You’re confident, but you never think that you have it or take it for granted”, Walsh said, subdued with glassy eyes in the locker room afterward. I’m just proud of this team in general.

Mike Zimmer was blunt. “He’s got to make it”. The team is set to move into the new, covered $1.1 billion U.S. Bank Stadium by the summer. The loss on Sunday keeps Minnesota from their first playoff win since 2010 while the Seahawks will now travel to face Cam Newton and the No. 1 seeded Carolina Panthers (15-1) in the divisional round next weekend. But Rodgers responded in the second quarter, leading the Packers to 17 points and a 17-11 halftime lead. They gained all of 11 yards heading into the second period, and they trailed by double digits.

The Packers absolutely dominated the Redskins in the second half of Sunday’s game, as their offensive line completely bullied the Redskins front seven, allowing Eddie Lacy and James Starks to take over the game on the ground. “I still have all the confidence in the world in him, and we’ll bounce back next year”.

“All I can say is that we believe in us”, Floyd said. But by the end of the day, Wilson was 13-of-26 for 142 yards and one touchdown.

Green Bay will play at Arizona on Saturday. It won’t stop Sunday: They’ll play again in the 2016 regular season in Seattle. We have to be a little bit more sensitive to one another in the moments in which we fail.

Rodgers, the league’s reigning most valuable player, finished with a pair of touchdown passes, completed 21 of 36 passes for 210 yards and led the Packers to points on five successive drives for the first time this season. “We had that fumble, that was a game changer from (Adrian) Peterson”, one Vikings fan said.
