Fox added: “For the past year we have been working purposefully to transform the club in order to build a successful organization that can compete and succeed in the Premier League”.

It sent Villa towards another defeat in front of their new manager Remi Garde, as the Frenchman watched on from the stands at White Hart Lane.
Telling the fans that he was “here to do my best”, Garde said that he was “quite confident” of succeeding, particularly due to the fact that there are “very good players in this team”.
Garde’s first match in charge of Villa will be against Manchester City on Sunday.
“But as well it’s also important the English player speaks slowly sometimes at the beginning”.
“Yeah, I think so”, Lloris responded when asked if Garde could lead Villa to survival.
“I just want to work hard – and the players to have more confidence in themselves, in their team-mates, in the team, in the club because I think when you start losing you are getting low in confidence”. In January I believe it is vital Villa recruit a new goalkeeper as Brad Guzan is a weakness in their starting line up, keepers like Tom Heaton and David Ospina are rumoured to be available at reasonable prices so they should be considered. The club has dropped 10 points from winning or drawing positions in the second halves of matches already, most notably after tiring against Sunderland, Leicester City and Swansea City in games that should’ve all been wins.
“There are 31 league games to go and that’s the bread and butter, so we’ll see how the body feels in a couple of days and go from there”.
Leandro Bacuna’s curling effort hit a post and, with Tottenham sitting too deep, Villa were able to reduce the deficit in the 79th minute.
Opta brought us the insight we simply had to know about Monday night football… The club did not make the best job of welcoming Garde to Villa Park, however, misspelling his name in the ‘#WelcomeRemy’ hashtag chosen to mark his arrival on social media.
“I’m very pleased with him and the whole team”.

It took until the 24th minute for Spurs to again threaten, this time when Harry Kane created space before his close-range shot was deflected by Alan Hutton and impressively tipped over by Guzan, and shortly before Dembele’s 25-yard strike comfortably cleared the crossbar.
