Villa remain rooted to the foot of the English Premier League table with five points from their opening 13 matches – a figure no side has ever recovered from in the division’s history.

With just five points now, Aston Villa are overwhelming favourites to be demoted from the Premier League which is yet to reach the halfway point. Aston Villa will look to Agbonlahor Ayew and Gestede to score the goals to get them a win.

Micah Richards finally found the equaliser four minutes before half-time after he was found unmarked in the box from a free-kick.

“I’m still believing that we can do it. But I’m not silly”.

“In our situation, we could have done with some more experienced heads”. They’re close enough [to the pitch] here, so when we were running the clock down in the last 10 minutes I got quite a lot of grief, but it’s good fun.

Villa’s recently-installed boss Remi Garde oversaw a draw with Manchester City in his first game in charge before last week’s 4-0 thumping at Everton. Will they be plying their trade in the Championship next season? “It’s only three games that I didn’t win”.

A FIFA spokesperson said: “We can confirm having been contacted by the Football Association with a request for change of association of the player Jack Grealish”.

“I don’t class the Villa fans I know as mates, they’re associates”, he joked.

Villa, still reeling from the summer departures of Ron Vlaar, Christian Benteke and particularly Fabian Delph, made 12 new signings in the summer, of which only two, Richards himself and his former Manchester City team-mate Scott Sinclair, had previous Premier League experience.

A sustained spell of pressure followed from the home team but it was Watford who went ahead after 17 minutes as Ighalo pounced and slotted past Guzan after Watson’s shot rebounded off Ciaran Clark and the ball dropped nicely into his path.

“That is everybody in the team because we conceded three goals so you can not say the opposite”.
