The Dodgers, however, did not say he would simply miss the National League division series against the Mets, but the entire postseason.
For the last week of the regular season, treasured Los Angeles Dodgers voice Vin Scully was off the air due to a cold.
Everyone in the Dodgers organization wishes Vin the speediest of recoveries. Scully, who turns 88 in November, said in August he expects next season will be his last in the booth. That would be an unprecedented 67 season as a member of the Dodgers’ broadcast crew.

Anthony Witrado of ESPN.com noted Scully is the longest-tenured game-caller with one team and started his career in 1950 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Scully did not call the series at AT&T Park in the final week of the season. His 66 years of service with the club are easily the most for any broadcaster in any sport.
