Violence in Jerusalem leaves 3 dead
A Palestinian man stabbed two security guards near the entrance of an industrial park in the West Bank settlement of Ariel, police said.

Israeli authorities said that three Palestinians were killed after they carried out or attempted to carry out attacks against Israelis across the West Bank.

One of the victims died of stab wounds sustained during the attack, according to Israeli police.
Thousand of Palestinians on Thursday marched in a funeral procession for a Palestinian shot dead hours earlier during clashes with Israeli military forces in the Qalandiya refugee camp near Ramallah.
One of the attackers was killed at the scene, while the second died shortly after arriving at Hadassah hospital in western Jerusalem. Twenty-one Israelis have now been killed, a lot of them in stabbings and shooting attacks by Palestinians.
Tensions have been high in Hebron, where several hundred Israeli settlers have moved in to live under heavy military guard among the local community of around 200,000 Palestinians.
A summer arson attack that left a Palestinian toddler and his parents dead, has unleashed a renewed cycle of intensified violence that has roiled Israel and the Palestinian territories for almost five months.
Another Israeli was killed, apparently by police gunfire aimed at the stabbers. The first vehicle was parked inside a bus station and that explosion killed three and wounded 10, a police officer said.
All told, Palestinians have killed 20 Israelis and a USA citizen since October. Officials said the militants operated an explosives laboratory in Abu Dis in the West Bank and planned to carry out attacks in Israel.
In recent weeks, Israeli authorities have arrested a number of suspected Jewish extremists over the July 31 firebombing in the West Bank village of Duma, though no one has been charged.

Senior UN official Miroslav Jenca said at the time that a comprehensive strategy necessary to reduce violence must not rely entirely on “enhanced security measures”, but “must also address the primary elements motivating Palestinian anger”.
