A Gainesville, Florida police officer is receiving kudos from all over the country for handling a noise complaint in a unique way – he played basketball with the noisy ‘offenders’.

“When he [White] approached the kids, the first thing he said was, ‘Could you believe that someone called to complain about kids playing basketball in the street?'” Tobias said.
Officer White’s exchange with the kids was captured on his in-car dashboard camera.
Minutes later, more kids come out.
People commented on the GPD Facebook page applauding White for how he handled the situation, which GPD described as “kids … having fun”. Officer White could be heard on the video asking. “But have fun. I’d rather see you out there doing this than causing problems”. “We are going to focus on the ones that commit crimes”.
It looks like the Gainesville Police Department will hold him to it, too. It piled up almost 2 million views in less than 12 hours.
The police officer, who the Gainesville Police Department identifies as Officer Bobby White, isn’t the best baller around, but with a little help from a lower rim, he manages to throw down a sweet dunk.

Another says, “Love this!” The kids were playing, “In the evening”. We are going to let kids be kids. “Thank you to the officer for being so awesome!”
