“Our current bowl streak started at Shreveport, and for me, that’s where it’ll end”, said Coach Frank Beamer.
The Hokies won three of their final four games to become bowl eligible. “It’s fitting that we started our bowl streak at the Independence Bowl back in 1993, and what a wonderful ride it’s been”.
Frank Beamer’s first bowl victory, and just the second in Virginia Tech history, came at the Independence Bowl on December 31, 1993.
Tulsa leads the all-time series with Virginia Tech 3-1.
The game is set for a 5:45 p.m. kickoff and will be televised on ESPN.
