The Reference series represents the company’s highest end TVs to date, and both models feature Dolby Vision high dynamic range (HDR) technology.

Although not yet launched on Vudu, Vizios’ Reference Series TVs will be able to play select Warner Bros. Home Entertainment 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision mastered titles via the video on-demand streaming service, VUDU.

As the 4K content pipeline continues to grow, some studios and providers are embracing Dolby Vision and open HDR standards for richer visuals. Interested consumers can submit their orders now at VIZIO.com and will then be contacted by a local custom installer to arrange delivery and a white-glove setup service.

Designed for cinephiles and high-end home theater enthusiasts, the premium Reference Series collection pushes the boundaries of brightness, color and contrast. Perhaps. But if it’s out of your price range, don’t worry; Vizio CTO Matt McRae told The Verge that the company is actively working to bring some of the features that make this TV look so good down to its other lines.

In the 120-inch TV, Vizio’s proprietary Ultra-Color Spectrum technology widens the color gamut to levels approaching quantum-dot technology.

“VIZIO and Dolby have worked tirelessly together to make true High Dynamic Range a reality for consumers”.

Vizio and Dolby Laboratories announced that their joint Reference Series TVs, with High Dynamic Range solution with Dolby Vision playback technology, are now available.

The new Reference Series 4K TVs from Vizio will be available in two sizes – 65 inches and 120 inches. In addition to previously announced content, Warner Bros.

Looking for a TV with a picture as dynamic as its price tag? For now, however, Dolby Vision titles are mastered to the P3 standard, said Vlaicu.

“Our priority is to deliver a premium digital home entertainment experience”, says Scott Blanksteen, vice president of product, VUDU.

Dolby Vision HDR gives a much better picture quality primarily because of brighter and more realistic highlights and colours. The 4K TV also shows off upcoming technologies such as Dolby Vision, which is able to enhance the viewing experience dramatically. Netflix will also offer Dolby Vision titles later this year, starting with season one of the “Marco Polo” series that it produces, with season two coming later this year after season two debuts, he said. Netflix plans to soon be offering Dolby Vision-enhanced movies, too.

The RS120-B3 or, as it should be called, the Lamborghini of televisions, will support HEVC H.265 codec and come stocked with Vizio’s V6 six-core processor, an 800-nit, Full-Array LED backlight and a new 802.11ac antenna.
