VMAs 2015: Nicki Minaj blasts MTV for a lack of nominations

This year’s event which will be hosted by controversial pop star Miley Cyrus, will air on the MTV channel live from the Nokia Theatre in LA from 11am on Monday 31 August – the pre-show kicks off from 10am.

“I’ve done nothing but love & support you”. “So I’m hosting this year’s VMAs“, said the second. If you recall, Kanye crashed the stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards as Taylor was collecting her Best Female Video award for “You Belong with Me”- an award that Kanye felt should have gone to Beyoncé for “Single Ladies”.

Even though there were some people who raised their eyebrows due to her performance, which was a sort of a shocker to all her Hannah Montana fans by the way, twerking kind of stuck in the consciousness of the viewers.

The pair recently collaborated on “Bad Blood“, and are together nominated for Best Collaboration and Video of the Year, which is pretty deserved, seeing as the video included absolutely everyone ever, including Cara Delevingne, Lena Dunham, Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez and Cindy Crawford. “Maybe one of the men took your slot”, Swift tweeted.

The tweet was enough to incite a response from an offended Swift.

Taylor then got on the social media site to respond to Nicki’s tweets.

She wrote in one tweet: “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year”. But u should speak on this. “I love u just as much”.

“Anaconda”, released a year ago, has 488 million views on YouTube. The former two are pitted against each other for Best Male Video and Best Pop Video.

Despite picking up three MTV Video Music Awards nominations, the Queens-born rapper isn’t happy about her bootylicious “Anaconda” video being snubbed from a couple of key categories.
