The sales drop is roughly equal to percent of diesels that VW has typically been selling in the US – about one out of every four new cars that move off the lot.
To be more specific here – November 2015 saw Volkswagen of America sell 472 e-Golfs, as compared to 119 sold in the USA during November 2014.
“Once approved from the competent authorities, the respective brands of the Volkswagen Group in India will carry out necessary actions in a step-wise manner”, it said.
VW has already admitted that 11 million diesel engine cars worldwide were fitted with the software that helped in manipulating emission tests.
In addition, VW is under investigation by regulators in the United States and Europe for exaggerating claims about fuel efficiency and emissions on conventional petrol vehicles. TrueCar estimates that VW’s per-vehicle incentive payments (across the VW, Audi, and Porsche brands) rose 27% in November versus a year ago.
The suspension affects about 20 percent of its typical sales but appears to have also impacted nondiesel models.
“Some of those people have told me of situations where they have tried to trade in vehicles affected by this emissions scandal at non-VW dealerships only to be told by these dealerships, they won’t be doing trade-ins on these Volkswagen vehicles”, he said.
It was the wrong month to run low on inventory.
ARAI director Rashmi Urdhwareshe did not respond to phone calls or text messages. The meeting will show where the family stands with the labor force, “an important indicator for the company’s plan to accelerate reforms and improve cost efficiency”, she said. Before a nationwide recall is rolled out to affected consumers, The company will have to come up with fixes that enable the diesel engines to meet clean-air rules before a nationwide recall is rolled out to affected consumers. “Now they can work on rebuilding the brand”, Doyle says. The recall is also a further blow to the disgraced German carmaker.
