The up! now gets LED daytime running lamps along with fog lamps mounted on the front bumper.
Stay tuned to Rushlane as we cover the 2016 Geneva Motor Show LIVE.
As you might be able to tell, details at this stage are extremely limited so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for the concept’s official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show early next month. It’s now been updated, with revised styling and a new turbocharged petrol engine to boost its appeal. Volkswagen’s press release adds that the compact SUV will “liven up the compact auto class in the form of a trendy, affordable SUV”.
Elsewhere, the existing 60 PS and 75 PS 1.0 litre naturally-aspirated MPI engines, 82 PS electric e-up! and 68 PS natural gas eco up! models have been retained, as is a five-speed automatic option.
VW is also seeking to further exploit today’s trend to personalisation of small cars with 13 body colours, three roof colours and 10 different dashpad designs available for the new up!.

Given that the little Volkswagen’s core habitat is towns and cities there’s now Pure Air, which includes an air quality sensor with biogenic filter that keeps the atmosphere in the cabin at a consistently high level and prevents pollutants entering via the system. Another new feature is the smartphone integration which now allows access to navigation, music and vehicle data when used with the Volkswagen app. In addition, Volkswagen throws into the mix the up! beats, blended by USA audio specialists BeatsAudio™ and boasting a 300-watt sound system. The exterior will come in new colors along with new seat fabrics, dashpads and decorative decal designs.
